Away for Christmas? Here’s Why You Should Book a Serviced Apartment

It can be great to get away over Christmas. You get to explore a new city with your family or partner, and it’s nice visiting somewhere as Christmassy as Bristol. Of course, the type of accommodation you select is going to have a major impact on how much you enjoy your break, and we think you’ll find yourself enjoying a serviced apartment more than any hotel.

Here are just a few reasons why.

Traditional Appearance

Most serviced apartments are more attractive than hotels, and those in Bristol are often converted from traditional homes. A period property just feels more Christmassy and welcoming – you’ll have a real fireplace on which to hang your stockings with care, and the room will feel right out of Dickens while still offering the latest mod cons. Talk about the best of both worlds.

Fully-Equipped Kitchen

Most people who go on a break choose to have their main Christmas dinner at a restaurant instead of cooking it themselves. However, it’s nice to have a kitchen to use regardless of whether you’re going to use it to make a turkey. Christmas is all about the food, so you’ll want to be able to throw some canapes in the oven when you’re feeling peckish during the Queen’s speech.

Plenty of Space

You might spend some of Christmas Day walking around the city, but you’re likely to stay in the room for most of the day. Whether opening presents, playing board games, or simply enjoying each other’s company, it’s nice to have a place to socialize. In general, hotel rooms aren’t really big enough for this, whereas a serviced apartment will have its own little living room.

If there’s one day of the year you should be able to kick back and do things your way, it’s December 25th. Unfortunately, hotels often need to keep to quite a tight schedule thanks to the sheer number of people they must accommodate, so you’ll need to take your meals and enjoy the entertainment at certain fixed times. In a serviced apartment, everything revolves around you.
